Yes. As of October 2024, Saint Lucia implemented a national minimum wage of $6.52 per hour or $1,131.00 per month. This applies across all sectors unless more favorable conditions exist under a collective agreement or contract of employment. 

An employee is entitled to 14 working days paid vacation leave after one year of continuous employment. The entitlement increases to 21 working days after five years of continuous service.

No. Under the Labour Act, termination must be for just cause, such as redundancy, incapacity, misconduct, or poor performance.

Overtime is generally calculated at time and a half (1.5x) the regular rate for hours worked beyond the standard workday and double time (2x) for work on public holidays, unless different rates are provided by a contract or collective agreement.

Deductions are only legal if they are required by law (such as NIC or taxes), authorized in writing by the employee, or provided for in a collective agreement. Unauthorized deductions are illegal.
